CARS Alloy Wheel RefurbishmentIn most cases CARS recommend a complete Alloy Wheel Repair. This requires the Alloys to be removed from the vehicle and repaired at our Alloy Center. Although not as convenient as an onsite repair this will drastically improve the durability of the refurbishment and ultimately improve the overall finish. As Alloys are the most susceptible part of your vehicle to damage we believe it is important to take the time to repair them correctly. How we do it... The damaged Alloy is Machined, Sandblasted or Polished using our specialist tools. Where necessary a special alloy wheel filler is then applied to repair the respective damage. The wheel is then primed, we match one of the many silver wheel finishes available to the original wheel colour and coat. A final coating of thick lacquer is applied followed by a final polish.

CARS don't recommend the use of jet washes, acidic cleaning solutions or any proprietary alloy wheel cleaners. Such products will attack, and in time, break down lacquer coatings. A mild detergent such as washing up liquid and hot water used once a week should do the job!
