Why Repair a Chipped Windscreen?

As Windscreen chips can develop in to cracks at any time, often when you are least expecting it, CARS always recommend repairing them as soon as they occur.

A crack when driving, can have a serious effect on your safety.

Your windscreen provides up to 30% of the vehicles structural strength.

The passenger airbag relies on the windscreen to provide support if the airbag deploys.

Repaired Windscreens are as strong as they where prior to being damaged.

If a Windscreen Chip is in the drivers line of vision, it only has to be bigger than 10mm for your windscreen to fail its MOT. Repairing the chip will reduce the chance of an MOT failure.

CARS uses the following approved method to repair damaged windscreens:-

• We firstly clean out the chipped area to ensure that the specialist resin adheres to the affected area properly.
• Using a suction tool we create a vacuum over the chip.
• Once the air is sucked away the resin is injected into the chip.
• The resin is then set using a specialist UV Lamp.

The whole process is completed within 30 minutes.
